    Hi Mick,
Was reading an old thread where you talk about the original toyota diff breather, part no 90404-51319. Is this for both front and rear? And are the threads the same for the 3rd gen diffs? And what about the centre diff, has it got a breather too?

    Cheers

Hey, Fabrizio. Sorry I didn't reply earlier, but I've only just seen this. The genuine Toyota breathers that you ask about should be the same, front and rear, with the same thread, on a 3rd gen. Mine's a 2nd gen, so doesn't have a centre diff. On the front diff, I found that the breather adaptor was a bit long, and a bit of a struggle. if I was doing another, I'd cut/grind a bit off the length. Here's a good, detailed thread showing all the breathers being done on a 2nd gen. http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76869 Maybe a 3rd gen owner might like to give you some advice on how they did theirs. Good luck.

Thanks mate, I have ordered a couple of the extended breathers/union from the Toyota dealer. However I understand from other threads that the front diff breather is already extended on the 3rd Gen. Thanks for the link to the breathers write up, its very good, I wish there was a similar thread for 3rd Gens, with that amount of detail. I'll try and look out for 3rd Gen owners who have done it.
      Cheers
