  • Wet footwell, drivers side, w. residue... Matrix?

Hoovered the truck this morning, noticed the drivers mat underside had a load of white powder on it and so did the damp carpet underneath. The heater works, althogh it takes 5 mins before it's warm.

    Duff matrix?

Have a look - checked underside, no holes a la Fred Flintstone.

Its kind of far over to be matrix, if it were it would be wet all the way over to the centre consol. But it may well be, only other thing is door seal.
well, that was a bad idea!

Does the truck have a sunroof?

The drain channels run down the 'A' pillars.

No, no sunroof. Had a search on here, could be the aircon/heater overflow pipe blocked. Can't see how it would get blocked given it stays on-road most of the time, but can't rule it out.

Coolant is changed every other service, maybe flush the f*cker again just to be sure. Centre console and passenger footwell are bone dry.

You don't need to drive offroad to get a blocked aircon drain hose. Usually it is 'critters' that crawl up the pipe and nest in there that cause blockages.

Are your feet frequently wet when you get in?

Wet carpets don't dry out easily this time of year. If the matrix was leaking, you'd smell it.

I know what you mean Apache, but I have chunky Michelin rubber mats on top of the Surf mats. That would be a sufficient barrier through to the floor carpet for anything my feet would bring in. The topside of the fabric mat is dry.

It doesn't smell when the heater is on and 10 mins in, the heater is toasty, which would imply it's able to retain liquid. It's being raining all night, but I'm suspecting maybe the overflow pope, or a seal?

                Or a walrus?

The bishop was at our church on Sunday.
I reckon he was an impostor.
                    Didn't move diagonally once.

I'll have a look for the overflow archbishop. I think it's somewhere above the bishop bash guard...

Makes sure you check with the pope first.

Does the rear washer work there is a none return valve behind the O/S kick panel that the hose can blow off if the pipes freeze and the it then syphons out into the foot well.

                          Wow. I have a washer?

I'll have a look. I bet it's not worked in some time.

Only grommet I can see is where I fed the power cables through for 12v lighter sockets... there is a small hole in the wing, but looks unlikely?

Here's one thought... I've never met anyone else with a Surf to compare my truck with, but I appear to be missing an internal wing liner... Or do they all look like this, Sir?

This is the passenger side battery view:

                              Leak

I have a similar problem started a while ago but mine is passenger side only, definitely not screen related as have had a new one fitted, last year which is when the problem started it seems to be only when it rains , seems to run from front right hand side of foot well, next to center console can find nothing obvious and although the heater works fine have noticed recently that the needle takes a fair time to move and then very slowly even on a journey of twenty miles or so, no loss of fluids, rear wiper washer works fine, so baffled any help appreciated.
