A new pump costs more than a tidy 2nd gen!
Looks like Carwoods are looking forward to a big p*ss-up this year.

There's a second hand one here.........

This might apply to your pump and they can be replaced without removing it....

            What would be wrong with the pump body? and from that £500 original price quote (if it were me), i would either;

Get a second hand one to get the Surf running, re-con the other one & flogg it as a re-con'd pump.

Send it to a denso specialist (Dieselbob? Lawsons up here) as its still cheaper that that quote you were given inc. postage if its off the engine.
The sh$t gets deeper ...but still swimming

              Thanks guys...

              Will this one fit?

..The phone call this morning mentioned £595 and I suspect that will be plus vat.

I've put a shout out with parts gateway so we'll see what that turns up

I think Terry (the seller) is a member here.

You may want to get the code and double check.

Pump arrived today...........with 3 smashed electrical connections
Looks like they had trouble removing the connectors so smashed them off.

Anyhoo...threw it on, timed it up and..............wow...

Like a racing car sure it's quicker than before.
I'll sort the connectors in the morning and fit the air filter housing and hope the engine check light goes out.
                    Then.........result

...Sorted out the connectors with cable ties and self amalgamating tape.
Checked the fault diagnostics (engine check light on).......Bugger....
                      Fault 13, 33, 39

Reset the ECU, only fault now, 39...

Plugged the fuel temp sensor in () and away we go...

Runs great, may take a few miles to trust it again and I'm still waiting to hear from carwoods about my original pump but life's sweet again........for now

                      Thanks for your help guys.

I may be looking for a pump soon... either that or getting mine reconditioned. Please let me know how your specialist gets on and if you would recommend them.

                        cheers!
