Oil filter change extras

Before I go change the filter/oil - any other bits and pieces/gaskets or whatever I should have to hand?

A Large sheet or piece of wood to catch......

Its a good idea if you are on a block drive or tarmac etc to put a old sheet under neath the vehicle,as oil will pour out the old filter housing when you remove it.Lubricate the rubber seals with oil on the new filter,and make sure you wipe the mating surface with a clean rag.I also partially prime my filters with fresh oil.

oil will pour out the old filter housing when you remove it.

Clean out your oil filter drain tube!!
