  • 3.0 Exhaust Flexi Pipe Mid Section Blows ?

    sorry if this is obvious;

    when I cap the rear of the tailpipe the exhaust gas exits the flexpipe section. Is this correct or cosidered a leak and do I have an MOT failure on Tuesday!

    It shouldn't leak, and should be a fail, but you might get away with it if you can't see any soot if its inside the braiding.

      Thanks Tony

      The Flex is covered in Soot. I will give it a clean and take a chance for the MOT test.

      You have to laugh at my stupid question. Annoying the flex has failed as the rest of the section has hardly a spot of rust. Meanwhile I will order the new section.

        oh but it's front wheel studs for todays task

        2 missing on the drivers side

        I replaced 3 on the passenger side a month back

        I know the current exhaust flex section was non genuine as were the axle studs that failed. They are all being replaced with genuine toyota studs now. Roughtrax have also said the current flex section / non genuine version they sell has now been improved.

          When my flexi broke about four years ago, I removed it n with what was left/salvageable from the rest of the exhaust I made a side exit ....
