  • drip underneath center of the KZN185

My Hilux was quite difficult to start last night, and it was only 11 degrees Celcius out - not cold at all. Same thing today. As I came back from getting groceries, I noticed an 8-10" long dark oil like spot on the parking spot.

There is a drip coming from a line that goes into a rectangular shaped metal box on top of the exhaust pipe, beside the transmission/transfer case. It appears to be a clear drip (maybe the soot darkened the initial dripping?). I can't smell it as I have a huge cold today.

What is this box? There's two lines beside each other coming into it from the engine.

    Thanks.

Its not the lines for the rear heater is it ?? Are your water levels OK in the rad and expansion tank? are you losing water ?
Rear heater lines corroding and leaking is a fairly common problem.

Too late for a picture, but it's diesel coming out of it.
