  • Rattle

    Hi all

I have a rattle from the front drive shaft on the drivers side, I assume and it has been suggested that it is the bronze bushes, my question is this, is it dangerous, is it easy to repair, is there any other way to stop it rattling?

    Many thanks.

Yep Bronze bushes! You notice it more when you got the window down.
It's not dangerous, just an annoyance, and yes they are faily easy to change, just lots of undoing,as the whole hub has to come off in order to knock the old bearings out and the new in.

    Regards

I had both sides rattling about 5 years ago and changed the one on the left side, because I had a broken CV joint that I needed to replace. I have meant to 'get around to it' and change the right side bush ever since, but still haven't done it. It still rattles (of course) but hasn't gotten any worse.

I've got a spare hub with brand new inner and outer bronze bushes fitted. I'll need to check which side it's for tomorrow.

Make me an offer if you're interested ?

            Rob.
