need to find where / what this is for

just got my surf but running poorly and bad fuel mpg (think that was down to the engine temp sensor not having the wiring put back when they renew the starter motor before i collected it
the blue outlined area on the inlet manifold there is a black plasic valve
my one is damaged and is there piping to it as its missing
what is it for ?.

plus i need to get the red outlined bits too if someone can help

Maybe someone installed a port for a BOV on the manifold. Just block it off if not needed.

Oh, that valve. Now I know what you mean. There's two in that area. One is for EGR Valve and also the small butterfly. Works both to recirculate EGR gasses. The other is also for small butterfly but only operates at engine shutdowm. Both valves are required at shutdown to close the butterfly.
