water pump gasket thickness ?

I saved my (newly fitted) water pump off my old 3.0 and need to fit it to my new one. I have the gasket all drawn up and ready to cut at work but don't know how thick the gasket was.

I remember it being fairly thick so was going to go for 0.8mm but was wondering if anyone had a new one waiting to be fitted that they could measure the gasket thickness for me ?

I wouldn't worry to much, from the factory it comes with a steel shim gasket that is really thin, aftermarket pumps have quite a thick paper-ish gasket.

What you have sounds fine.

Thanks Tony - I've just removed the pump on my 'new' truck and it is indeed a steel one that is 0.5mm thick.
