  • Selling advice

We've decided to sell the surf and downsize to a more economical 4 x 4. I'm putting an ad together and trying to be as honest as my limited knowledge allows, but not being a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination this isn't easy.

We used to have a major water leak causing some overheating and white smoke, but since it has had a new radiator, water pump and several hose changes, I'm only having to top up with a cup or so of water every couple of weeks and there is no smoke.

Does this small amount of water loss suggest that I have a problem with the head gasket/head or not?

Also, it's an excellent runner and starts first time, but there's only a couple of weeks of the MOT left, so is it better to advertise it as spares or repair?

Just be honest like you have been here & get as much as you can for it.

If you put an add on the forum it will sell in no time & you'll probably get a better price.

    P.S
There is a small fee for putting the add on the forum but worth it as the surf will sell in a day or so.
If its not broke don't fix it.
