sorry if i'm sounding a pain but trying to get to grips with owning a hilux without having to pay the garage bills... as my previous post with regards to my fuel solenoid i eventually got it off (with a bit of swearing at it)tested it and it appears to be working fine with an audible click, but after alot of web searching and phone calls thinking i would need a new one alot of the people who i was talking to with regards to this part kept mentioning to check the earthing strap.. and for the bugger of it can i find one, is what these people saying feasable or just trying to fob me off.. thanks for your help.

There are two fat wires going to each side of the block, one that bolts under the A/C compressor and a smaller wire that bolts to the back of the head, the last one if left off or broken causes the fuel pump to not work. You can't see it or reach it easily, but is often left off when refitting an engine, but apart from that no reason for it to a problem.
Your valve could still be blocked, even if its working.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

Thanks Tony,
still trying to get hold of a replacement phoned everywhere but no joy took it to my local parts supplier and he had never seen one that big (no pun intended)phoned Toyota they reckon you have to buy the entire pump at a cost of get this £2200 +vat, the ###### car ain't worth that.So i'm stuck at the moment, well she go's but i'm just apprehensive about driving it at the moment...i'll just have to keep phoning and trawling the net..

Find a deisel specialist, the pumps on most Jap vehicles are made by Denso, you shouldn't need to via Toyota for it at all. There is a Toyota part number for it, (don't know it, it should about on the net or someone with a EPC on here will have it. You'll have to specifically ask for it by number at Toyota or they will just try and sell you the whole pump.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
