  • what is that thing called

    hi guys,
a couple of months ago when towing our caravan up a big hill in cornwall the surf started to heat up ,i pulled into a garage let it cool down, checked coolant levels, i needed to put about a litre or so of water in the rad - fine until 200 miles later same thing happens again, anyway no signs of a leak so i changed the coolant put a new rad cap on it and keep a close eye on levels all fine,

this morning i've noticed a drip coming from the unit directly below the power steering top up res,i think its water but cant really tell cos of all the crap it travels through to get to the floor

can any tell me what the unit is below the power steering filler so i can do some forum searching
    2nd gen 3.0d
    cheers

Immediately below the PS fluid reservoir is the PS pump at the back of the timing case and the exhauster (vacuum pump) at the front.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Possibly. They are very prone to leaking.
