A while back she started clicking and not spinning.....
Finally got round to buying a kit from RepairkitsUK on eblag for £15....
Plunger and 2 contacts and a nice little diagram about replacement...
Firstly can i say what #### put the upper nut in such a ####ing stupid place.....
How the #### are you supposed to get it off easily...... your not.....
Managed to crack it off with bent spanner through wheel arch and some heavy grunting
Then found an old 1/4" flexi drive that managed to fit between the gearbox and bell housing allowing me to spin the nut off.....
Bottom one fell out easy.....
Had to remove fuel filter and bracket to get it out up through engine bay...
Changed the contacts and plunger, that was the easy bit....
Had a fag and coffee to celebrate......
Getting it back in wasn't too hard as i had sussed out from taking it out what a git it was....
Only trouble was the main battery cable terminal, the nut sits inside a plastic shroud and i could
not get socket between terminal and one of the wishbone mounts so had to find dog leg ringspanner...
no luck...even mechanic round corner didn't have one that would fit and no way was i going to take out the motor just to tighten up the terminal......
Finaly got a 3/8" socket squeezed in and grips to twist it tight.... job done sorted....
Only buggereded one knuckle and cut nothing, total time just under 2 hours including fag, coffee and trip to mechanic......
Now clickety vroom vroom wahay..........
