  • Help please on UJ

Hello (again) I've had a metallic grinding noise develop today and after a quick look underneath the rear propshaft where it joins the rear diff has some play in the UJ.
    Here's a piccie of it:

So I'm assuming that it will need changing and this will (hopefully) sort out the noise. Could anyone tell me if this item is the thing I need to be ordering:

Also a sneaky bonus question now that you're here, I recently changed the fluids in the auto box and the front and rear diffs, however it appears I must have missed one:

These look like the same drain and refill bolts on the diffs so I'm assuming there's fluid in there that needs changing. Is this called a transfer box please? If so I'll have a search for the correct fluid for it unless someone is able to advise what to put in there.

    Thankyou very much

Many thanks, fluid is now changed, UJ part arriving tomorrow.

I think i've done all the fluids apart from coolant now; transmission, oil, front diff, rear diff and transfer box.

Although no matter what I do I can't get the magnetic oil sump bolt from Roughtrax to hold oil in no matter what combination of different washers I try

Waxoyling being done tomorrow, then aeriel replacement and aeriel motor refurb. New rear diff breather line and front diff breather to attach, and new sidelights to fit and then I think I might have completed all the little jobs

Then I can start on rust removal on the sliders and adding a couple of little steps for smaller people, then I can get on with the intercooler
