Yeah, only M10 with a big washer, I think
it's to stop the drive shaft pulling back out
of the hub, don't know why, it can only
come out if the ball joints fail as far as I
can see. (then you're in trouble)

      Gman.

Got the same noise....thought it was the bronze bushes but it's something I don't know the name of...yeah useless bit of info I know!

I can tell where it is though and maybe later I will find a diagram of it..

When you take the front wheel off, then the disc you then have the upper and lower arms. These you need to separate to get the drive shaft out.

On doing this I found attached to the underneth of the upper arm a smallish bracket/bush/link thing about 3-4 inches in size and sort of triangular in shape...it was this making the metal dink dink noise like a little man with a hammer.

Rubbish description I know, but it sounds the same plus everything appears ok when you check..
          .... Which was nice.

Did my Bronze bushes on the drivers side about a month ago.

I had a rattle going over uneven surfaces, old cobbled roads where the best example.

Replaced outer and inner bushes drivers side only - rattle gone, no signs of wear on old parts.
