3.0 TD Kzn130 Removing aircon to make room for ATF cooler

Has anyone removed the aircon junk to make room for a transmission oil cooler? I have read lots of posts regarding additional tranny oil cooling as my SSRX gets a little warm when towing our 4 berth caravan. After a scare last year with the ATF light coming on I have towed without OD on but the fuel consumption is scary like this. Any thoughts much appreciated

Fit the cooler on the other side of the radiator, the AC condenser only takes up half the width.

Or fit it at the bottom so that it takes air from the underside of the bumper. That's where mine is.

When you say at the bottom do you mean underneath the aircon rad or below bash plate as some seem to suggest?

As I use it as a caravan tug and not off road I have thought of taking the bash plate off to let a bit more air circulate round the bottom end to help cooling.

is this what you mean -
aircon binned - coolers in the bash plate with additional cooling fans.

they keep the atf and engine oil at a steady temp in over 30 degree heat in traffic jams

made it myself - its a fairly simple thing to make for anyone that does a bit of fabricating.
