  • What have I done wrong????

    Hi there

I've just replaced the front pads and rear shoes on my Auto KZN185. Gone to start up and it won't turn over. Brake lights are still working, all other electrics function OK. Selector in P and foot on brake turn the key and you hear the solenoid click and it sounds as though the starter tries to turn over but can't.

I know its something stupid, but what??

    Any ideas please

    Cheers

Battery flat? Did you leave a door open for any amount of time? Interier lights could drain an iffy battery quite quickly.

Don't think its the battery, fan, etc all seem to run at normal speed, but have put battery on charger just in case. Was wondering if the immobiliser has coincidentally gone haywire and won't switch off, but if that was the case I wouldn't get anything when I turned the key, would I?

Thanks for the feedback so far

      Cheers

        Hi Tony

        SORTED!!!!

As suggested it was an "iffy" also known as F*^%$!D battery
Was really strange because the low voltage in the battery was setting of the immobiliser and alarm, and it was that that was throwing me off the scent.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

Have remembered the age old lesson - If it seems obvious - check the obvious first.

        Cheers

        Tony
