  • Speedo wrong

Speedo needle doesn't start reading until the truck is moving at a fair pace. I just put in a GPS so I thought I'd check various speeds to see how far it's out.

    Reads 30, is actually 36
    Reads 40, is actually 46
    Reads 50, is actually 57

Not good as far as PC Plod is concerned!

    What's the diagnosis doctor?

Then I'm guessing the needle was put back in the wrong position when the speedo face was changed.

Could be someones taken the needle off, to fit a MPH dial perhaps, and not re fitted it in the right place.

              Thanks Vince

Hey, I was going to come up to you at the end of January. Are you around in the next couple of weekends to give the truck a look over please?

              cheers!

Yes mate, this week-end would be better as the garage will be free. My drive is too steep to be checking things like fluid levels etc.

I'd go with the needle like Vince said, if it was tyres/gearing, it would get progressively more out the faster you go.

It seems to be roughy 6mph out across the board, so just move the needle back 6 mph.

Thanks chaps! I'll have a go at moving the needle then.
