Hi all,
I was having some cooling problems with my '96 2nd Gen before Xmas and I thought I was headed for the cylinder head replacement scenario.
I was losing coolant regularly, but no clouds of smoke or evidence of a leak anywhere. Of course, I was topping up with water all the time and putting off proper investigation.
As a trucker, I use the Surf to go to work on Monday and it gets left all week until I return Friday. So it doesn't get a lot of use. Anyway, it hit -15 at our yard on a couple of occasions. Not good! On my way home the temp went through the roof! I got it home by stopping and waiting for it to cool down a couple of times, and it has been parked up ever since.
Now that the weather has improved I got to check it out. Topping up, water was coming straight out from the water pump, so I took it apart to see what was up. Look at the pics to see what I found!![Surprised](https://hiluxsurf.co.uk/core/images/smilies/surprised.gif)
Anyone seen anything like this before?
