  • side light bulbs

hi guys, can anyone tell me how to change the side lamp bulbs on my 3rd gen .I have had a look on previous threads but can't find a complete answer.Having looked at them it seems fairly straight forward but i seem to have a great skill in breaking plastic clips when things don't go my way so any advice would be great.

    it's easy.

    1. open the bonnet
    2. on the top of the sidelight asembly there is a crosshead screw - take this out
    3. grab hold of teh asembly from teh front of the car (hook fingernails around the gap betwen the light & the wing) and give it a good sharp tug - just be aware that the wiring is not very long so don't take too much of a run up
    4. twist bulb holder 90 degrees anti clockwise and remove from light assembly
    5. bulb is capless so just pull out & replace with new one (I upgraged my to 16 amp ones from the old 10 amp ones, much better)
    6. refit lampholder by push & twist until locked
    7. push light asembly back into hole at side of headlight
    8. re fit screw
    9. stand back and admire a job well done

if necessary, repeat for other side

For mine it took about 10 mins to do both sides and that includes opening the bonnet

    hope this helps

Mine were very stiff to remove initially :ooer: Also benefitted from being encouraged forward by a screwdriver head wrapped in a cloth to prevent chipping the paint. Keep going!
