  • oil level rising

Could anyone shed any light on this? My oil level has risen so much in the past month that i've had to drain 2ltrs to bring it back down to normal. I've had the oil analyzed at my work for water content - result was 0.15% water. so it aint coolant. Im assuming it's diesel dilution but where from? piston rings?

2lts? that's quite a lot! Does the oil smell of diesel? You're not running on "alternate" fuels are you? (veg' oil, kerosine, parafin etc). If the rings/bores were that worn I would expect lots of "blow back" and poor idle. You don't have any special modifications do you, such as fuel cooled oil cooler, or oil heated fuel supply?

Get them to do a full analysis on the oil, find out what's in there in a 35% concentration. Should be simple enough.

Recently had the injectors/diesel system checked - all healthy. The car starts no problem, even in the snow!
A mate is gonna run compositional analysis over the weekend for me. For a client like bp £400, for me £0
