  • Best cylinder head?

I was wondering who i should buy my new cylinder head from.
At the moment im set on getting one from roughtrax - are they definetley new heads? Just curious as they ask for your knackerd head in exchange?

I'v read alot about "stevo", who is this? does he supply good heads?
    Any suppliers to avoid?
I plan on doing it myself so any tips would be appreciated. . oh and will i need any specialist tools, materials or equipment?

    Apologies for ignorance
    Thanks in advance

I can't comment on the Roughtrax head, as TonyN fitted a stevo (or Engine Co Ltd) head back in either 2004 or 2005 (I can't remember which off the top of my head), and the truck has been trouble free since. Up until two years ago she was my daily driver, travelling about 40 miles every day.

Stevo is a site sponser (like Adrian Flux) so change pages until his advert is in the top right corner.
    Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

Trouble is that you click the pic and get an error message.

I bought my 2.4 head from Stevo and he was brilliant in giving extra little tips about cleaning up the block etc..

My Roughtrax head was a very shiny alloy, which could only be new I reckon.
They couldn't re use the old heads unless they're filling the cracks! I believe they refurb the cam and valves etc... So a new head and cam is a new head and recon cam and valves "shimmed up" to stock spec...
        But i could be wrong!

After a wee problem with the first head I got from Roughtrax it was all sorted out pronto, can't recommend them enough, first class service.
