  • Autobox fluid check

Does anyone have the definitive answer on how to correctly check the oil level in the autobox on a 3.0ltr 2nd gen surf?

I have seen posts saying what people believe to be right, but none seem absolutely sure.

Most popular seems to be to get to operating temp, cycle through the gears then check dipstick with engine running. Is this definately the correct way to check the oil level?

Yup, in Park, motor running, hot for most accurate reading. but as long as it between the marks you're fine.

It won't play up unless vastly under or over the marks, theres no need to get that scientific over it.

This info is kinda missing from the buyers guide... simply says to check the ATF! Can I suggest this thread be added? Or stickied or something? Would be good to have a definitive little how-to given that people consider it an important check
