No O/D light illuminating?

A friend has a 1994 3.0 KZN130, and the auto box seems to be doing what it should in the higher gears (we think), but the O/D light on the dash no longer illuminates. It is possible that when you press the throttle at 65-70, you don't quite get the acceleration you would expect, though the revs are climbing though. This doesn't happen every time. Any thoughts on this please?

if there is a fault with the autobox the od light will flash, it could be that the bulb has gone, i would start there before you start getting to complex. You could push the od button take the truck on a duel carrigway then turn it on you sould see the revs change as the od comes on.

OD kicks in at 55MPH and you can feel it, revs also drop to just under 2 grand and engine note changes, if all this is happening I'd change the bulb. H

the only time the OD light is on is when the od is switched to off or there is a fault and then the od light will flash.If the gears arent going into o/drive then it is probably the ecu knackered but from what you say it is kicking in.Make sure the od light comes on with it switched off and if it don't change the bulb
