Thanks for that, I assume the filter will be behind it? Is it just a case of pulling the filter out once the sensor is out? Its really tight for space round there and I hope no springs or ball bearings fly out as I remove the sensor.....

Using a correct size deep socket you can remove both the sensor and the 'distributive head' in one go (see the grey hex fitting in the above photo), however when the fitting is quite loose and you are unscrewing it by hand, be aware that the fine and rather small filter gauze can drop out. If so it will be hard to find - try to keep you hand under it.

Removed the sensor and the housing. Hooked the little filter out with a bit of wire, which was handy as there is a little spring washer at the back and it all came out over the wire. There was just a small blob of crud, which I assume was laying over the inlet/outlet. Blew it all out, clean as a whistle - reinstalled it and the truck flys!
Through the clear inline flter you can see the fuel rush through, rather than just a dribble.

I am having similar problems on a KZN185. Fuel supply to the pump is all good and I have removed and cleaned the small filter under fuel temp sensor in the pump but it still struggles. Are there any other filters/gauzes in the pump that can be removed/cleaned?

Theres a multi layer one under the spill valve.

You will need a 32mm spanner like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Draper-32m...item20bf44c1c3 A normal spanner is too thick at the jaws and needs to be cranked.

Remove the air filter to get to it. Its a bit of a bugger till you have done it 20 or so times....

Mine turned out to be a buggered pump.

Make sure all pipe connections are tight, the pump is a very high pressure hydraulic pump and ANY loose connection will mean it sucks in air and that will severly reduce power and may put on the engine light with error code 14.
