hay all the solonoid bit in the actuator am i right in saying its under a small disk like piece with a circlip, and im thinking this could be the reason for my problem i posted the other day because i was really clever and removed the plate and a cilinder sprung out i pushed it back in after some amount of oil coming out and am now suffering with intermitent revers and pullling power many thaks

No idea but I think you should edit and add the shift.

                actuator

Hello gents, i've been restoring a surf kzn 130 over the years and just rejoined this forum to try and solve an actuator problem and i found this thread my problem might be the same as yours - I can't engage 4wd due to what an auto electrician has diagnosed as a faulty actuator connection! Are you having the same problems? He says the actuator is like a wiper motor with a disc connection thingy it can corrode and give problems? I don't know really is it worth taking apart or getting a second hand one. It's spoiling a great car at the mo. Good luck with yours
