I have noted some spots of oil under my KZN130 surf and it appears to be making its way down the back of the engine from the top of the engine. There is what appears to be a breather pipe that comes out the rear of the plastic rocker cover and then makes its way down towards the inlet of the turbo. Where this pipe joins to the rocker cover seems to be where the oil is weeping from. I have bought a new rocker cover gasket but now I think it is coming from this breather pipe. Any ideas how I should further investigate the leak?

If you're really worried there's too much pressure in the rocker cover then get a compression test done. That way you'll know if it's normal or not. If it's pressurising due to problems with valves or rings it will give you a chance to catch it before it gets worse.
I'd guess the original hose clamp is knackered and thats all the problem is.

Hi Ringo - I've just posted a similar problem here, with oil dripping from breather. Did you make any progress resolving your driping breather? Please don't tell me that you've just had top end disintegration or spent £2K getting a full rebore and rings and vales and head or a replacement engine.... KeithAhhh....skinned knuckles and heavy hammers...

Not experienced any terminal failures thank god!!!!! I have fitted a new hose clip to the rocker cover breather and cleaned off the excess oil from around it and so far.....(only done about 70miles) everything looks good fingers crossed it all stays this way!!You can live in a car....but you can't drive a house!!
