I've only ever used one cheap ebay head, and it was warped out the box. Got replaced ok by supplier, but I can't take the risk or need the hassle when its other peoples trucks.

They are cheap, with all that entails good and bad.....

                Hmmm...I've updated my profile.

It's £1150 + VAT for Stevo to supply and fit a 3.0 head.

Having said that, how easy is it to change the head? If it's JUST a case of undoing a load of nuts, lift off old, place on new, and tighten said nuts I might consider it. It's not, though, is it?

I've done an engine change before, but never a cylinder head, so excuse my ignorance.

It's not difficult to be honest. I have almost completed my 3.0 head change and it's very straight forward. Although I have done many engines/heads before, I had never done a Surf, and cos every engine has it's own issues, I asked on this forum and as usual plenty of people came back with good advice.

Just take your time, and if you haven't got a workshop manual, make sure you make a note of what goes where. Also, you will probably need a second pair of hands to help lift the head on and off - unless you have a hoist! If you get stuck, then ask
