  • Rev counter dipping

Noticed our rev counter is sometimes dropping right down, only when on tickover, and it seems to happen more when the weather's cold (OK kinda hard to tell on that...). It suddenly plops down to like 100-150rpm, and sometimes comes back up, sometimes not.
The motor is def idling spot on.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to look? I take it these are electronic jobbies?

    TIA

Could be a loose plug on the back of the instrument cluster or the pick-up sensor is dirty.

p.s. I think the sensor is on the crankshaft pulley, don't don't quote me on that, I haven't got a 3.0 diesel here to check.
