  • play in front diff flange

Hi I have a kzn130 which has slight play in the front driver side diff flange.
Is it easy enough to change the bearing in the diff or would it be easier to just change the diff or axle.

if its not leaking diff oil leave it alone, they all wobble, even from new. axial play (in and out movement) is the important measurement in them. Its only a bush/seal, and the end is held in the spider gears of the diff.

I've found that generally gthe seal fails and leaks oil before it wears out enough to need replacing, so generally go with thats as a guide.

I too have discovered play on the front axle shaft on the drivers side.

After reading this I checked my axial in/out play and it's around 5mm, however there is no leakage at the moment.

As Tony's prior response I guess just leave it and wait till it leaks as the alternative is a complete front axle rebuild or a second hand unit with all the risks and perils involved.

Is the wear the big or little bearing 43631A, or the shaft 41304F - or both? I can't see a bush anywhere.
