Servicing Cost

My Surf needs a service. I've been quoted by one garage £220 for a service and on top of that another £70 for a new air filter (they haven't looked under the bonnet yet). Does this sound about right?! It's running well at the moment.....

Don't know about the servicing costs, but you can get a fullset of filters (Air , Oil, Fuel) delivered from Milners for about £15-£16

Certainly no expert, but Chequered Flag in Leeds charge £99 for a basic service and £125 for a cam belt change.

I can also tell you that you can get a filter kit for around £12 from Roughtrax which includes air, oil and fuel. Does sound a little on th eheavy side to me.

BTW there are no dense questions - Ask some of the guys on here about some of mine!!

WOW. You guys are legends. Thanks so much. Thought it was a bit steep. Only had my previous VW Caddy costs to compare it with and a service was nothing like that cost. Will definately shop around....

Milners do a filter and oil service pack for £31 plus postage
Find a local mech and slip him a few quid to do it.
