The big button on the top of my gear shift leaver broke. Or rather, the bottom of the shaft that is part of the button sheared off. Was ok for a while as it still worked, but today the broken part inside the lever came out of it's proper channel and so it stopped working.
Obviously without this, the truck can't get into anything but D, N, and 2, and you can't get the keys out.
I managed to take it all to bits and bodged it with good il' GAFFA TAPE (every truck needs this stuff).
So, now I have the button at home and it is recuperating after some superglue surgery. Diagnosis is hopeful, but long term, I feel it is a weak spot.
I don't suppose anyone make a nice machined aluminium version? Or Toyota made an updated better version?
