Going to try a few diesel specialists tomorrow after work every garage I speak to seems to avoid imports.

I keep telling them that, I think if they have enough general servicing, and easy jobs comming in then they just make the excuse to not get involved.
Got someone going to look at it tomorrow I hope, If they turn up.

Starts up perfect, ticks over with no lumpyness or hunting, revs to 1200 ok go past 1300 and it starts to die like its being starved then starts to smoke no sign of oil or water loss. Just reconnected bats and run it until the check light came on and its there fault 14 How do I check the ecu? and any pictures of pump filter location please as mentioned by Nev.

check the filter behind the fuel temp sensor like Nev said, I've cleaned ours out twice in the last year, also, when the pickup in the tank got blocked it had the same symptoms. Just blow down the fuel line from the filter back to the tank with the fuel filler cap off, and check you can hear bubbling from the tank.

Fuel line blows through easy, The filter is clean, Replaced more fuel line incase of cracks,
Starts and ticks over fine, just will not rev, very frustrating, Going to get water checked for blown gasket and pray this machanic knows his way around a Toyota.

Another waste of time I told the fella about all the tests I checking I had done and he says. Its got to go to Toyota to have the ECU reset and a full diagnostic He would only have only done what I described I had done already and he cant do no more. Chancer
