Torsion Bars

I did a search, and found plenty of useful info but not quite what I was looking for.

It seems I need to adjust the driver-side torsion bar (sagging nearly 4cm) -although I expect it'd be wise to plan to replace them in the near future. I don't really want any lift (from stock)- is Toyota the only option for stock height/ride-quality? If so is it just a matter of ordering 4-Runner torsion bars or are different parts spec'd for the Surf 3L TD?

i take it the rear is also sagging and if so you would need to replace the rear springs.You can get them 20% uprated but not lifted springs from www.roughtrax4x4.com or www.milneroffroad.com

Thanks for the reply. The rear is not bad actually -at least not visibly sitting low. The driver's side rear is about 1cm lower than the passenger-side rear (vs 4cm lower on the front). Aside from that it looks pretty level front to rear.

My biggest concern is that with that much sag on the drivers-side front that there's not a lot of life left in the torsion bar. Replacement looks fairly simple and I'd rather tackle it before there's an issue. I'll definitely adjust it in the mean time.

I've seen the parts on roughtrax -but I'm pretty fond of the relatively plush ride, so not sure I'd want to go 20% firmer.

My brother and I are breaking a Surf at the moment. It has what looks like a new(ish) pair of torsion bars but they are not the standard ones as they are red (Old Man Emu??). Let me know if you would like them becuase my brother wants the truck out of the way by the end of next week.
