ah, dont think that will do it as i already have a heat exchanger, im just a little worried that as it is before the fuel filter when it gets up to temp, the pump will still be draggin the cold oil out of the filter,

but does look good though! a lot cheaper that all the other systems ive seen!

Remember the pump will still be dragging cold oil through your injectors unitl it's up to temperature. I've got that system running on my truck, it runs well. I just run the truck on idle for a few minutes when starting from cold to purge the cold fuel out. The glow plugs in the heat exchanger heat up really quick and come on with the ignition too.

Am I right that you still couldnt go for 100% veg in winter with this as the gelled fuel would still be in the fuel lines from the tank to the heater so you'll still have to have a certain amount of diesel or whatever mixed in?

Chaos did you do a write up or anything about how to fit it?

In the winter I go about 80% - 90% veg, just to thin it down. Also idle the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. During summer though, I run 100% veggie and not had a problem. Have thought about putting lagging around fuel tank and fuel lines. But not sure how that would stand with MOT as it wouldn't be easy to inspect.
Didn't do a write up for fitting it as I ballsed it up, cracked the cylinder head, so had to get TonyN to replace head. While he was working on it he fitted the heater properly.
The idea is that you have an electric heater to come one when you start up from cold. Then as your engine heats up, you have a splice going into the hot water lines for heater matrix running to the exchanger. So when the hot water is up to temp, the glow plugs turn off automatically. The unit works as an exchanger then. The unit in the ebay link comes with instructions, just poor german to english translation.

got to be honest chaps, it was -1 the other day here and the truck started fine (on diesel) let it get up to temp gave it a min or to then switched to 100% veg, seemed to run fine?

although to be fair i did remember i do have a heater on the return loop

100% on my system in the winter seems to be fine as the veg oil and diesel return pipes go back to the veg tank, and before i turn it off i purge all the lines with diesel so nothin should be stuck in the injectors to go gloopy

onlu reason i wanted the heater on the filter was dur to the heated veg coming into the filter and hitting cold veg, only to give ita helping hand really
