  • Air sensor/fiel consumption

Has anyone found any link between changing/cleaning there air sensor and fuel consumtion? in fact has anyone ever cleaned it?
i ask due to my other car being a passat, if the AMF (air mass flow) sensor is not reading correctly the fuel consumption takes a massive hit, but performance is not down enought to notice as you just put your foot down more to compensate.

oh! and does anyone know of this just measures air flow or airflow/airtemp?

    thanks in advance

It's simply an air temperature sensor.
