there have been a number of posts about replacing the dual mass flywheel with a solid one instead. how have people fared after this replacement i.e. how long has it lasted ? after it was done did you get a whirring noise as you reached the limit of the clutch pedal travel each time you changed gear, esp. 2nd and 3rd gear? the garage [ in africa, where parts are hard to get hold of but run by a good mechanic] said that they 'made the flywheel solid and rebuilt the clutch in front of it ' as they couldn't get a fly wheel. and now i'm just wondering how long this will last ! performs fine [ it's a '95 KZ - 1TE and reaches 140 km/h with no problem ]

Tony fitted a solid f/w to my KZN130 over two years ago & it's been 100%. Mine does have the slight whirr when the clutch is fully depressed, but that has never changed in intensity.
