  • My backside seems rippley

I was wondering if this is a trait with the SSRX in that when going round corners it seems as though the back end gets loose and wallowy...especially on wet.

Any advice would be helpful...it looks like the normal/soft switch is used for Rear Fog Light and I am worried about taking off the console as I have just had a Cobra immobiliser fitted and don't want to immobilse the vehicle for good!!!

My backside seems rippley. i'd keep quiet about that mate.
The surfs back end slides about a bit in the wet so be careful tyres can be a contributor to this, if the back end slouchy then it could be the rear springs.
we call it a saggy arse end

      saggy arse end

These are not comments that should be coming to light before the 9 o'clock watershed.

Gizmo, fret not, I to suffer from similar circumstances but unlike Marky do not suffer with a soft posterior. I have elevated my 4runner's rear and still have problems keeping it in a straight line when cornering.

cheers for your comments....I don't have a saggy arse on the vehicle its that the car has seemed to step out a little...obviously there is quite a lot of weight shifting round, especially with the wheel on the back of the door as well.

The tyres on at the moment are Yokohama 265/70 R15's and the tread pattern seems to be more catering for road conditions than off-road.

As a newbie to the surf (4 days now) I am loving it...it just scared the s**t out of me when it seemed to step out on what was a corner taken at reasonable pace or so I thought.

Yeah, they do that, 2 tons and rear wheel drive. The art is to go in slower and drive out of the corner hard
If life's an uphill struggle then downhill from now on can't be that bad?!

cheers...still getting used to the 3L and Turbo...big difference from an 1.3LXI car.......next thing is to get used to hitching up a horse trailer on the Witter towbar that I got fitted and then start to tow round the petrol station so that the fuel is on tap....thought I had a drink problem on a night out LOL

Maybe someone could point me in the right direction (thread or otherwise) for fitting recovery points (D rings is it?) ...In the future I want to start joining in on the group fun...but I want to be prepared for recovery...
