Second dipstick??

Have had my second gen surf for nearly three years now and only just noticed the second dipstick under the bonnet!! Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is for?? and before anyone says "for checking fluid level " I have already heard that one!!

If you mean the orange dipstick, it's for the auto transmission fluid level. You top up the fluid through this dipstick tube too.

p.s. If you haven't noticed it for three years, I would get the fluid changed A.S.A.P.

Anyone know the best method for topping it up by the way? I did mine not long ago, now then, I am six foot five with monkeyesque arms but couldnt reach down that low, I ended up with a funnel attached to a length of pipe. It took flippin' ages to do!
