anyone know how easy or not, it is, to change the autobox on a 3 litre ssrx. about to put it back on the road even though o'drive aint working, just aint the same in the golf, might need a decent mechanic in the worcester area.

you will be better having a couple of you to lift the gearbox into place and to wriggle it about to get the shaft into the torque converter.It is a heay thing to lift but i'm sure yo should be able to do it yourself tho with a mate
Hi personally i would take the torque converter off the engine and put it on the box before offering box upto engine less chance of damageing the splines on the box or converter.
.........and take care not to damage the oil seal when re-fitting the transfer case.
Stand the transmission up, and lower the t/case down onto it, then re-fit the transmission and t/case as a whole unit. A big trolly jack is useful here.
