    G'day Mate,
    I do not have a gen3, I have a gen 2.
But I think they are the same, there is a small white beeper screwed to the
rear of the speedo cluster by 2 screws.
I removed mine because I fitted reversing sensors and they clashed.
Again I do not know a gen 3 but it only took 30 minutes start to finish
to take off the trim, remove cluster, remove beeper, replace trim.
    Hope this helps.

its for those people who insist on pushing in the top button on the gear shift and pushing it the wrong way out of neutral so removing it may not be a good idea as we are all human and can make mistakes ,also i don't reverse long enough for it to be come an irritation.

I don't mind that one, it's the 'Keys in the ignition' and 'Ignition on' ones that do my box in.

Stopping the door chimes one is easy. Have a look at this thread on the Aussie site:

yeh, but once again the ignition chimes are a good reminder that the keys are in the ignition as my surf will lock itself with the door shut after a preset time not a good idea with the keys inside and no spare within reach.

Hippos ok with the keys in the ignition, leave them out and she WILL set the alarm & lock the doors
