I have been experiencing problems with the transmission of my 96 surf. After recently engaging 4WD to get out of a field the the indicator lights did not show that 4wd was engaged ie the 4 solid green wheels being displayed. When the 4 WD button was released the car remained in 2wd but the transmission indicator lights continued to flash and still do so when car is being driven. Perhaps of greater concern is that occasionally the car bangs as if something has jumped in the transmission (It feels as if the car has hit a deep pot hole!). It has been suggested that this may be due to the drive chain in the transfer box jumping its sprockets. Any thoughts on the problem would be welcome. Thanks
