Has anyone tried to fit the Lexus 4.3 V8 lump found in the LS430 to a surf?

I'm guessing the mounts/bellhousings would be similar?
    Cheers,
    Sean

Bushwhacker & JMC are both in the middle of Lexus v8 conversions now. I think both are using 4.0l v8s from soarers, dunno how similar this is to the engine you're on about?

here's a few threads about them for starters, there's also one which i think was titled "it's in" started by BUSHWHACKER, but i can't find it coz the search doesn't like words with 3 letters or less.

If I remember rightly JMC's is being done by L.A.Supertrux (www.supertrux.co.uk) whilst BUSHWHACKER is doing his himself.

without reading all the old threads and posts i would think that the electrics would be a bit of a nightmare as the 1UZ-FE engine is peppered with sensors which all are required to ensure it runs correctly, and would most certainly be the last engine i would put in a surf if it was going to be used as a serious off roader, great for the tarmac in which case go buy a range rover or a jeep.

            Yep, you're not wrong!

I bought a complete MOT'd LS400 and stripped it so I have the engine, transmission, ECU and complete wiring loom. I'm going to be fitting the Lexus dash too.
The V8 is in, the Lexus trans. is adapted to mate with the Surf's transfer case so that I'll still have 4WD, and I'm just about to start connecting everything up.
After that I've got to fabricate a nice rumbly loud exhaust, get the rear propshaft shortend slightly, an possibly the front shaft lengthend. Then fit the high pressure, in-tank fuel pump that I bought, into the Surf's tank, then modify/fit the dash (the Lexus dash is wider than the Surf's) and plug everything back in.

Hehe, you clearly haven't seen my surf. Most owners on here would hate it, the nearest mine gets to being off road is on a temporary carpark in a field!

I use it more for drifting, than off roading.
