2.4td auto, average over a year is 22mpg 50% urban 50% motorway, usually with 200-300lbs of band gear in the back. this is with tyres at 33psi, wind deflectors still on, no bull bar, aircon rarely used, (autos are 3-5mpg poorer than manual transmissions)

The offical fuel consumption for the 3.0lt is 7.3 Klick/Litre @ 55 kph

7.3/1.61 (KM to Miles) = 4.5
4.5 x 4.55 (Litre to Gallons) = 20.63 MPG

The surf seems to like a run and you should get about 25 to 26 MPG

around town it could be as bad as a Range Rover
