i have a few questions re my surf, my rear window washer does not work ,is it on a seperate water bottle/pump to the front if so where is it situated?
what is the correct tyre pressure 165 x 16 tyres i am currently running at 30psi all round ?
also i have read in the hand book that it is more economical to run with the overdrive off than on , my soarer apears to be the opposite, have you any comments on this?
are the headlamp side lights 5w capless (push in folded wire type) as i have 1out?

O/D on, and ECT off for most economy.

Add your truck details to your profile, age, engine and fuel type if a 3.0
I don't know why you newbies are so secretive, it's not as if MI6 are reading this.............is it?

is that all! it feels more than that at take off, so only half the bhp of my soarer then, does well to lug that big body along,it leaves quite a few cars standing at the lights but that could be down to the low end grunt and an auto box.

                Soramad,

Getting back to one of your original queries, the rear washers run off of a separate pump on the washer reservoir. I had problems with mine when I first bought it. Turned out to be a gunky film blocking the non-return valve situated in under the headlining plastic across the top of the rear door opening. If you pop it off you will see the pipe running across from the side of the car. Pull the pipe going in to the non-return valve and if water flows when you use the rear washer switch then yours will probably be blocked as mine was (but put a bottle or bowl under the pipe to catch the water).

If there is no flow to the non-return valve then the pipe could be blocked nearer the pump or the pump itself could be knackered. You can release the washer bottle by undoing a couple of screws/nuts (can't remeber which) and then pull it up out of the location enough to see the two separate pumps. Check by eye which pipes go where to see which is the front and back and try swapping the electrical leads to see if the washers work back to front when you use the switch. That will at least tell you if the wiring is working OK.

If you get stuck, drop me a PM and I'll see if I can help you out over the weekend.
                Mike G

thanks for the replies guys, and thanks to tallyman for the inf on the rear washer, hopefully i will have time to have a look this weekend but as the rear window does not get messed up to much, (probably due to its height ) i'm not in to much of a hurry.

Had a problem with my rear washers the other week, the hose had come off under the carpet just under the throttle pedal, if the motor is running when you turn the knob you will find water coming out somewhere under the truck.
