engine swap 3.0td

Are all 3.0td engines the same?
Will a 98 unit drop into a 94 surf?
Mine is the KZN130 the later engines are KZN185
and is the engine in the automatic different ?

My engine has a IKZ prefix, I can get a landcruiser engine prefix KZJ
Does anyone know if the landcruiser engine fits the surf.
Any assistance is apreciated.

I think the Prado 1KZTE should fit however you may need to move engine mounts as I'm not sure they are in the same place. Basically if the new engine is a 1KZTE (3.0 TD EFI) then you are at least starting with the same basic engine. Unless your original had an intercooler, then that might cause problems as the Prado does I think.

This is all supposition on my part, Elvie's the one in the know.
