Hi everyone
have just been offered a burgundy 3ltr td 94 uk 4runner, fsh. Only prob is she is supposedly only running on 3 cylinders and very clattery. Seller thinks it's a valve prob. Car supposedly starts and runs. From photo's it;s in very good condition for a uk car - new doors, tailgate innards, running boards and good tyres.
My current blue 94 runner is pretty shabby thanks to an uninsured white van man but is on a 'new' kzte to kzt lump from a low mileage surf couple of years back. Bar slightly lower (but fine) oil pressure she runs great. Because of this i do have a spare complete recon head from my original kzt with about 60k on. work was done at local engine specialists and I seem to remember (i didnt pay) it was pressure tested, new vlaves as necessary etc etc - the works. Has been in dry storage for 2 years now.
Any ideas on why the red one is running on 3 cylinders? and the vlaue of this? If pusghh comes to shove and the lump is knacked I could sell on or strip for spares.
