Intercooler&ECU alterations

Hi Sam,

Thankyou for your enquiry regarding your Toyota.
We can offer an intercooler system that is designed to fit in front of the
radiator and uses a combination of silicone hoses and aluminium pipework to
connect to the engine. The inlet manifold will need a slight alteration to
accept the extra pipework, which makes the modification difficult to offer
in
kit form.
The power and torque will increase by up to 40% with improved economy and
throttle response. The cost is £555+ vat.
As the engine uses an electronic fuel management system, it is necessary to
use an additional tuning unit to allow us to adjust the fuel settings. This
acts in a similar way to a "chip" but is wired into the loom externally.
This unit is adjustable and allows us to calibrate the settings to match
every individual vehicle. The other benefits are that it can be set for a
standard vehicle initially and then re-adjusted at a later date to suit an
intercooler upgrade, plus the unit can be removed and fitted to another
vehicle. This unit will cost £390+vat.
We are offering a free fitting service, or the kit is available for DIY
installation with an exchange manifold..

Your right that does sound intresting. Can they prove the 40% power/torque figure?

Could we maybe get a group discount? Even with out any more discount that is a good deal, think it would cost a great deal to get done if you had to pay for the fitting as well.

Dont know about the proof thing, but that reply has been sent to a few of the people on here. Extra power would be good though, got beaten on a standing start by a bottem of the range bog standard ford focus.

don't want to be a killjoy, but how long do you think the gearbox, tranny, etc will handle an extra 40% power increase?

Just 'cause you got it dont mean you've to thrash it, its not a boy racers car. Plus any change-suspension, tyre size, etc all put extra pressure on the stated systems.
If you use the extra power for towing uphills, the odd overtaking, and the fact that having extra torque means the autobox wont need to change down as much 'cause can cruise in higher gear, there shouldn't be any problems.
It was just an idea anyway
