All we need now is a 'How To'? on the t-belt light procedure!

I know it's an old thread but I thought I'd say thanks anyway - I saved a bomb using this advice and changed the belt and bits yesterday whilst I was changing the radiator.

Harder on a kzn 130, more bits to take off.
          1 hour on a kzn 185.
          Half a day on a kzn 130.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Tut tut Si, it's the LN130 (2.4) that takes a few hours not the KZN130 (3.0).
The KZN130 and KZN185 share the same engine, just different bodyshells.

                So is it as easy?
Do I have to do anything different?

It's about time I lavished a bit of love on my old girl.

                Cheers

would you recommend a genuine belt or is the dayco belt just as good?

With things like cam belts I always go for genuine just to be extra safe but it depends on your budget. The non genuine will be fine, I'm just a fussy git.

Yes you have just confirmed what i was thinking, for a few extra pounds its not worth the risk. my surf is used daily to deliver pontoons all over the UK it has to be 100% reliable which up to now she has never let me down.

All went well, took about 1.5 hours and about 15 minutes to reset the warning light by removing the clocks.

                              Cheers
