        Should be SAE75w-90 GL5, same as front diff. AFAIK, 75w-90 are normally part synthetic and EP80 & 90 is mineral oil. Not sure if that's the reason its turning white tho! The oil in mine always comes out pretty much the same golden colour as it was when it went in. My old 1st gen was the same too.

          thats what i made it as well, so it must be. the top bit of the one thats on there should just turn loosley, if not it's codged up,
          try spannering it off and blast some w/d through it.
          blow through it and see if you can get it to work as a valve.
